In order to improve tax-related business environment, further clarify the rights and obligations of taxation authorities and tax payers, advance taxation institutional reform, improve taxpayer services, the State Administration of Taxation(SAT) Beijing Office decide to upgrade tax payment notifications and reminders citywide.
    The following announcement is now made:
    1. Taxation authorities shall, in accordance with basic tax-related information such as registered addresses, production and operation premises, and contact details, notify and remind taxpayers or withholding agents of tax payment by text messages or registered mails.
    2. Taxpayers and withholding agents shall pay taxes before the statutory date and in accordance with the notifications and reminders issued by taxation authorities.
    3. Taxation authorities may take enforcement measures against taxpayers and withholding agents who fail to fulfill their tax payment obligations before the statutory date and in line with requirements.
    This announcement comes in effect citywide in Beijing from 9 October, 2017.
